If you’ve filed your return and you’re anxious about the arrival of your refund check, check the IRS Web site to spot your refund’s location in the big bureaucratic pipeline. Simply go to the IRS site, www.irs.gov, and click on “Where’s My Refund” in the left column.
To obtain your refund status, you’ll need to provide the following information as shown on your return:
• Your Social Security number (or IRS individual taxpayer ID number). • Your filing status. • The refund amount.
