If you decide to file your return the old-fashioned way—on paper—don’t draw any unnecessary attention. Here are a few helpful hints:

Put all forms and schedules in the proper order, based on the attachment sequence number located in the upper-right-hand corner. Don’t rely on the form number itself. If a form has no sequence number, put it last.

Use the pre-printed address label the IRS sent you. If it’s lost or damaged, check for the mailing address in your region.

Use enough postage. Every year, approximately 2 million taxpayers fail to provide sufficient postage on their returns.
