Q. What questions are off-limits on an employment application or when conducting a job interview?
A. There are too many off-limits questions to list here. However, the important thing to remember is that the questions asked—whether on the application or during the interview—must be job-related and related to the applicant’s ability to perform the key functions of the job. Among others, never ask questions about the applicant’s race, age, national origin, religion, marital status or disability.
