Five Mexican citizens living illegally in the United States pleaded guilty to forcing undocumented workers to labor on their family farm in Immokalee.

Cesar, Geovanni, Villhina and Ismael Michael Navarrete, along with relative Antonio Zuniga Vargas, pleaded guilty to identity theft and harboring undocumented foreign nationals. A federal Immigrations and Customs Enforcement investigation concluded the family paid minimal wages, drove the workers into debt and threatened physical harm if the workers tried to leave before they paid off their debts.

Cesar and Geovanni Navarrete additionally pleaded guilty to beating, threatening, restraining and locking workers in trucks to force them to work on the farm.
