Manage a team’s progress by asking workers at day’s end, “What did you do today?” Piece together an hour-by-hour account. By randomly asking them to report on their activities, you can decide if they’re maximizing their time. You also can tell whether they’re enthused over their work. Example: If they seem ashamed, evasive or forgetful, that’s a red flag.
