If you’re relocating your office, take smart preventive steps when moving a computer. First, back up your hard drive on diskettes or a zip drive. Remove the toner and ink cartridges from your printer. Disconnect all cables and clearly label them to save time when you’re ready to reboot. Don’t overlook your keyboard, which is surprisingly delicate. Protect it in bubble wrap or slide it into a Styrofoam sleeve before boxing it, and pack it at an angle to protect the keys.
