Some managers communicate authority by displaying aggressive body
language, such as putting their arms on a desk and leaning into a
seated underling. But there are better ways to assert yourself than to
invade someone’s space. Example: Give three concise reasons or
reminders, counting each one on a finger. Or stand up straight with
your arms at your sides, chopping gently at the air with one hand to
emphasize a point.
