Try a ‘throwaway’ telephone number

by on
in Office Technology,Workplace Communication

Just as you may use a “throwaway” e-mail address when you’re filling out forms on the web, you can also play it safe with your phone number.

Say you’re placing a classified ad. Before you list your number, pick up a free, temporary, disposable and anonymous phone number from Numbr (numbr.com), which will forward calls to your phone.

You set up the expiration time for the number, though you can extend the date or discontinue use of the number earlier than planned.

One of the coolest features is that you can opt to have all calls to the number go straight to voice mail. With no interruptions, you can review your messages when you have the time.
