Co-worker: “Did you notice Mark sucking up to Mr. Boss lately? It’s so blatant! What’s with him?”

You: “No, I hadn’t really noticed. I’ve been so busy with work and this XYZ project. In fact (glance at your watch), I just remembered that I owe Ms. Head of Marketing a call. Will you excuse me? I’ve gotta run.”
