We’ve all read the news, so we know that e-waste is gunking up our waste stream far faster than anything else.

What can you do when it’s time to replace an old computer with a speedier one?

Click on World Computer Exchange (worldcomputerexchange.com), a group that whisks old computers to children in one of 65 developing countries.

How to do it: Drop off your Pentium III or higher computer at one of 22 U.S. locations (see web site), or ship it to the company’s headquarters in Massachusetts.

Dell Recycling (www.dell.com) donates old Dell computers to the National Cristina Foundation to help disabled and economically disadvantaged children and adults in your own community. The foundation will pick up your computer at your door and put it to good use in your community.
