One way to make yourself more marketable? Learn another language. With an Internet connection, you can learn almost any language free. Check out these web-based services that let you download a daily lesson in everything from Spanish to Hindi:

LiveMocha (livemocha.com) is a free site where members can take beginning or intermediate lessons in French, German, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, Hindi or English. Through online chatting or webcam video, you receive one-on-one tutoring from native speakers at no charge.

Praxis Language offers podcast language lessons in Chinese (ChinesePod.com) or in Spanish (SpanishPod.com). Podcasts are free, but exercises cost $9 to $30 per month. And for $200 per month, you can receive daily tutoring by native-speaking teachers via Skype, the Internet-based telephone service.
