Want to change your accounting method or need an IRS ruling about your employee retirement plan? You’ll soon pay more for such IRS service. The IRS recently announced big increases in certain user fees for 2006. The increases, which formally take place in two stages, are fully effective on July 1, 2006. Example: Under the revised Employee Plan (EP) system, fees for opinion and advisory letters and determination letters for plans will cost between $200 and $15,000 (up from $125 to $6,500).
