It may be true that you get what you pay for, but New Jersey employers are paying more than most for health care, according to the 2008 Health Plan Survey conducted by United Benefit Advisors (UBA).

The survey showed that New Jersey employers pay, on average, $9,344 per employee for health care coverage each year. That is 27.5% more than the national average of $7,327.

Average monthly premiums for the more than 350 New Jersey plans surveyed were $444 for single coverage and $1,110 for family coverage.
