The Aspen Skiing Company has announced that it will offer domestic-partner benefits to its employees this fall. Health insurance and ski passes are among the benefits the company will extend to employees’ partners, regardless of their sex.
Other major ski resorts in the region, including Vail Resorts (which operates Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone resorts) and Intrawest (Copper Mountain, Steamboat and Winter Park), already offer domestic-partner benefits.

Bryan Gonzales, executive director of the Roaring Fork Gay & Lesbian Community Fund, told the Aspen Times that it was a “nice surprise.” No doubt skiers who attend the 31st annual Aspen Gay Ski Week in January will approve.
