Do you have a great idea but can't overcome a "problem" your boss sees with it?
Unless you push ahead, inertia will bog you down, and one of the most powerful forces of inertia is objections.
Here's the answer: Don't even
try to address your boss's problem ... at least until you ask these two
• "If I could convince you that solving this problem was really important, how would you do it?" That draws the boss not only into the game but also on your side.
• "If we can overcome this problem, can you see any other reason not to move ahead?" That commits the boss to put up or shut up.
