Beware ‘slacker support’ Web sites

You know that some employees slack off at work by cruising the Web. But did you know that some Web sites actively encourage it—and give users ways to deceive their bosses? Sites such as www.ishouldbeworking.com and www.boredatwork.com offer games, jokes and links to help workers fritter away the day (plus a countdown-to-the-weekend clock). Some sites include a "panic button" that allows users to jump to a more business-like Web page if the boss suddenly appears. The lesson: Invest in software that allows you to monitor employees' cyberspace travels.
