The U.S. Labor Department published new rules last year saying that companies offering health insurance must give employees more specifics on their rights to COBRA continuing health coverage. The new rules, which clarify the content and timing of COBRA notices, were set to take effect Jan. 1. But the Labor Department says it will give employers six months to comply. For details on the rules, go to www.dol.gov/ebsa/newsroom/fs052803.html.
