IRS sets 2009 limits for HSAs

The new maximum annual Health Savings Account contributions are:

  • $3,000—eligible individual with self-only coverage
  • $5,950—family coverage
  • $1,000—catch-up contributions for workers 55 and older
  • $5,800—annual out-of-pocket amounts for high deductible health plan (HDHP) self-only coverage
  • $11,600—annual out-of-pocket for HDHP family coverage
  • $1,150—minimum deductible for HDHP self-only coverage
  • $2,300—minimum deductible for HDHP family coverage
