Business community gives lawmakers low marks

In a recent Michigan Chamber of Commerce survey, a whopping 90% of responding members gave state lawmakers a grade of “D” or lower for overall job performance. Forty-two percent gave them failing marks, and no one gave them an “A.” Gov. Jennifer Granholm received an “F” from 60% of respondents.

Business leaders cited a lack of fiscal responsibility, an unfavorable tax climate, job loss, the economy and government inefficiency as top problems facing state government.
