The New York Regional Health Care Report Card, recently released by the New York Business Group on Health and the New York State Health Accountability Foundation, gave New Jersey HMOs low marks for quality of care.

New Jersey HMOs performed as well or better than the national average in just 10 of 19 areas, compared to 19 of 23 for New York HMOs.

Employers and employees can compare the quality of hospitals and health plans by county throughout New Jersey and New York by visiting www.abouthealthquality.org.
