The U.S. Labor Department recently awarded a $1.5 million job-training grant to the North Central Texas Workforce Board. The board was among 11 organizations nationwide chosen to receive funds under the Advanced Manufacturing Job Training program.

Board Chair Roselyn Lane says the funding “will provide new opportunities for workers to gain access to high-skill, high-wage jobs in both advanced manufacturing and its related logistics fields.”

The board expects the program to expand the work force pool in the advanced manufacturing sector by training approximately 500 workers with Manufacturing Skill Standards Council credentials and other standardized logistics certification.
