The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has chosen Texas as one of six states that will participate in a long-term-care planning promotion campaign.
The campaign, called “Own Your Future,” encourages Texans between ages 45 and 65 to think about their long-term care needs, including their retirement savings, physical fitness, long-term care insurance and major life decisions with legal implications.
Gov. Rick Perry says many people mistakenly believe that Medicare will cover their long-term care needs.
Long-term care planning tool kits are available on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Web site at www.aoa.gov/ownyourfuture or by calling 866-PLAN-LTC.
