When workers yak it up in the company break room, don’t be so quick to bark a quick “Back to work!”

In a new OfficeTeam survey, 40 percent of employees said water-cooler chatting “increases productivity by encouraging bonding.” Only 21 percent of executives agree with that statement. About a quarter (26 percent) of employees concede that it actually decreases productivity, while 34 percent of execs say it’s a downer.
