Texas workers are becoming more confident in their ability to find a new job, according to the Spherion Employment Report, a monthly survey conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of Spherion Corp.
The most recent Texas Employee Confidence Index rose 1.3 points to 63.3. The report found that fewer Texas workers expressed confidence in the future of their current employer.
According to Kim Lockhart, director of operations for Spherion in Texas, “With the Employee Confidence Index reaching its highest point of the year and the labor market tightening, it is clearly still a candidate-driven market. This in turn makes it more challenging to find qualified skilled workers.”
Advice: Confident workers are more likely to look for new work, so now is a good time to brush off some of those retention programs you used back in the boom days of the 1990s.
