Executives from Michigan’s Big Three automakers met with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Secretary Michael Leavitt in late January to sign HHS’s Value-Driven Health Care Initiative.

The initiative calls for sharing quality and price information about doctors, hospitals and other medical providers with employees enrolled in company health care plans.

The Big Three were joined by 30 other Michigan employers in signing the initiative. Together, they employ nearly 2 million workers.
