According to the Texas Workforce Commission, technology jobs are again experiencing strong growth in Texas after several years of declines.
Example: Last year, the number of tech jobs in central Texas rose 2.7 percent, even as some large employers were trimming their tech staffs. Among those expanding in the state are Samsung, which is building a new semiconductor factory and expects to hire about 900 employees to staff it.
That means Texas employers face more competition for tech-savvy talent. Recruiters report that tech candidates are receiving multiple offers, compared with a few years ago when any job offer was welcome.
