Nineteen percent of people surveyed by CareerBuilder.com say they fib on the job at least once a week. Twenty-six percent say they've lied to please a customer, and 13 percent have lied about a workplace mistake or missed deadline.

To spot a nontruth, look for nonverbal cues, such as rapid eye movement, fidgeting, crossed arms or legs and touching the face. Other hints: repeating the question, hesitating before answering and providing significantly more info than you requested.
