Q. Is there any way to obtain I-9 forms pre-printed in Spanish? —A.B., California

A. The I-9 Form and most other USCIS forms are published in English only. If you use a separate translator or preparer to assist in completing an employee’s I-9, that translator must list his or her name and address (and provide a signature) at the bottom of Section 1 in the “Preparer and/or Translator Certification” section. Employers themselves must fill in this section if they assist the employee.

A preparer/translator can be used only when employees are unable to complete Section 1 on their own.
