More firms crack down on employee use of the Web

Nearly a third of employers, 31 percent, now monitor and/or restrict employee Internet use, according to a survey. Approaches range from restricting some employees' access to periodic monitoring of which sites are being visited and for how long.

At a minimum, you should remind workers in writing that the computer system is the employer's property and they should not use it to violate a company policy or the law.
