A small but growing number of employers use global positioning systems (GPS) to track employees. By 2006, most new cars will include GPS systems, as will cell phones. Advice: You already have the right to monitor employees' computer and phone use. Let employees know that company cars and cell phones are no different. But if you use GPS to track employees, tell them you're doing it. Distribute a revised policy, and gain employees' written consent.
