Admin, not a techie

Tips for working in new or unfamiliar software:

  • Right-click to see what options you have. One admin suggests putting “Right click!” on a sticky note on your computer monitor.
  • Google your question, using the software program as the first word in the search. Odds are someone has already asked the same question on a forum and found the answer.
  • Keep detailed notes in a file for software tasks you do only occasionally, so you won’t have to stumble through the same challenges every time.

Good basic tech instructions…sounds like they’d work for just about anything.
