4 tools to make job-hunting easier

We certainly hope you’re not feeling forced to job hunt. But if you are, these social-networking tools can help:

1.  The LinkedIn “Apply Now” button. From any job listing, click on the “Apply Now” button in the top-right corner to send your LinkedIn profile and contact. You can opt to send a cover letter or résumé, as well. Look on the “Saved Jobs” tab to track applications submitted.

2.  SimplyHired’s “Who Do I Know?” tool. It looks at your Facebook and LinkedIn connections to determine whether you know someone at a company where you’re applying (or whether you know someone who knows someone).

3.  Twitter chats. Recruiters and job-seekers use a hashtag to be part of a particular Twitter conversation. Popular chats include ­#jobhuntchat (Mondays at 10 a.m. ET) and ­#careerchat (Tuesdays at 1 p.m. ET).

4.  Virtual job fairs. Like a tradi­tional career fair but online via Twitter.
