Protecting against electronic sabotage by ex-employees

Not all terminated employees go quietly.  Some rant and rave about how unfair you're being.  Others plead for a second chance.  So when an employee seemingly accepts their termina­tion without protest, employers typically let out a sigh of relief.  Not so fast.  With nothing more than a few taps on the keyboard, a vengeful ex-employee can cause far more disruption to the workplace than some of your most vocal employees.   

Take, for instance, the employee at a Texas auto dealership who was fired.  He used a former colleague's network password to remotely disable the ignitions and set off the horns of more than 100 vehicles sold by his former employer.  He also changed customer names to celebrity names and ordered $130,000 in unnecessary parts and equipment.
