We’ve been doing more hiring in the last few months after doing none for about two years. Revisiting hiring has showed us some holes in the process so my resolution is to take a fresh look at how we recruit, select and onboard new employees.
To finally complete the HR Procedures and Practices manual I’ve been compiling for the last couple of years. Being a two person HR department, the everyday tasks of managing HR always seem to take precedence.
Every year I say I’m going to do a full-blown audit of our HR practices and then I get caught up in the day-to-day stuff here. I’m reading a lot about more employment lawsuits, so 2011 is the year I’m going to give our compliance a good once-over.
