Holiday festivities on a shoestring

Question: “Congratulations to me! I've been tasked with planning our firm's holiday party—but don't have much money to work with. I've got 50 people to please. I think we could afford to go off-site, but I'd rather spend on the food and fun than a hotel ballroom. Does anybody have creative ideas on how to celebrate the season without breaking the bank?”—Sandra, OR

Well we typically do a Thanksgiving luncheon and have ours catered in and we ask the employees to make a side dish or dessert and they are judged. We give out prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category (we usually get nice prizes so many people are willing to participate) We have also had everyone submit a baby picture and we have done GUESS WHO and have given out prizes for whomever guessed the most correctly or the cutest/funniest ect.
