While some people feel “married” to their jobs, others may feel married to a colleague with whom they spend many long hours—or to the boss they support. A relationship with a “workplace spouse” can be an intense, intimate connection.
A recent survey by Captive Networks reveals the nature of workplace “marriages.”
People who have had a relationship with a co-worker that is close enough to classify as work-spouse:
69% of married men
63% of married women
55% of single people
People who discuss their sex lives with their work-spouses:
35%
People who confide with their work-spouse about problems at home:
59%
People who said their workplace “marriages” had become sexual:
12% of executives
8% of nonexecutives
