Keeping up with your reading list

Staying on top of the administrative profession and your industry is a daunting task.

Several tools can help with storing an article until later when you have spare time to read:

Read It Later allows you to save pages from your computer or phone, then read them online or offline. The application is integrated into software you already use, such as the Firefox browser and the iPhone.

How it works: Click the “Read It Later” icon, and the page automatically saves to your list. Visit your reading list to catch up on reading. Click “Mark As Read” to remove it from your list.

Instapaper.com is similar to Read It Later and extremely easy to use. Drag the “Read Later” bookmark to your bookmarks toolbar. Click the bookmarklet to store pages for reading later.

Instapaper also allows you to easily generate a printable version of your on-deck items, or even download them in Kindle or ePub formats for reading on the go.

Delicious.com remains a useful tool for longer-term storage of important articles. Using a browser bookmarklet, you can send articles and web pages you want to refer back to later to your Delicious account, plus a short personal note and topic tags.

Clipmarks.com focuses on saving and sharing just the parts of web pages you find most useful.
