Store scattered pieces of information in one place with these online tools:
1. Strategically store web content with Springpad (SpringpadIt.com). The tool allows you to grab and save notes, ideas, recipes, restaurants, photos, etc., from the Internet.
Not only that, but it uses what you’ve saved to generate alerts when it discovers a relevant online offer. For example, if you’ve saved the page for a new business book, and Amazon suddenly offers a discount on the book, Springpad pings you.
Springpad works with all major browsers on Mac and PC, and it also works with the iPad, iPhone and Android. Downside: no BlackBerry app.
2. Organize a batch of business cards. ScanBizCards ($7 on iPhones), WorldCard Mobile ($6 on iPhones) or CamCard ($7 to $15 on all major smartphones) keep business cards from disappearing in a messy drawer.
With CamCard, for example, you first take a photo of the card. The program allows you to edit the image, remove unneeded information or make corrections. Once you store the cards, they go into an alphabetized system. A search function makes it easy to find what you need.
