With more employees brown-bagging it due to the sluggish economy, workplace refrigerators are becoming more crowded … and germ-infested.

Between one-half to three-quarters of Americans bring their lunch to work these days. Currently, less than half of all office fridges are cleaned once a month; 22% are cleaned only once or twice a year, says an American Dietetic Association survey.
