What’s new at the SSA?

There's good news and bad news from the Social Security Administration (SSA).

The good news: The SSA Office of the Chief Actuary has projected that the "wage base" for Social Security tax purposes will remain at $106,800 for 2011 (the same as 2009 and 2010). 

The bad news: Correspondingly, Social Security recipients won't receive an increase in benefits in 2011. But the SSA foresees increases in both the wage base and benefits in 2012.
