Q. Can we require full-time nonexempt employees to attend work-related functions after regular hours? If so, should this time be compensated?

A. You may require employees to attend work-related functions that take place outside of normal working hours (assuming yours is a nonunion working environment). If any of the employees who are required to attend are nonexempt, you must pay them for their time.
