Americans get back to exercising

In the past seven days, how many days did you exercise for 30 or more minutes?

More Americans are exercising, according to a recent Gallup poll. That’s good news, for all aspects of our health.

0 days       30.4%    31.5%    31.2%

1-4 days    41.8%    42.3%    42.8%

5+ days     27.8%    26.1%    26.0%

Adults need at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity each week and muscle-strengthening activity on two or more of those days, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “2008 Physical Activity Guidelines.”
