So, she advocates accepting that your current up cycle will lapse into a down cycle. Deal with it. Use it to prepare for the next up cycle in these two ways:
1. Talk to customers. Especially during a down cycle, they’re motivated to listen to ideas that can help them. Run your ideas by your customers and gather their suggestions for improvement.
2. Encourage your best people. Make sure they don’t leave for greener pastures; you’ll need them when your next up cycle comes along.
