Question: I work for a nonprofit agency and we are revising our job descriptions. Currently, my job responsibilities fall under several categories: Department Secretary, Office Manager and Steno Supervisor.
I like the "Senior Executive Assistant" title. Does anyone have a job description for this that includes: job summary, essential functions, accountabilities and minimum requirements (education, special requirements, experience)? Thanks. -- Debb, Buffalo, N.Y.

I worked for a nonprofit organization and my title was "Executive Assistant to the President". Under this title my duties included supervisor of clerical staff, as well as, office manager. Pretty much all that you mentioned along with personal assistant duties. However, in saying this to get the salary of an "Executive Assistant," I had to have my AAS degree. The reason being, in searching for titles that matched my performance, mainstream nonprofit companies required some type of degree of two years or better along with at least 5 years of executive level experience. So to get the salary of the title a piece of paper was required with the experience. Hope this helps

I work for a government agency and my current title is Administrative Manager which includes supervisor to other admin personnel, assistant to the Director, office manager, managing budget and HR responsibilites. Formal Education Requirements are: Education requires level of knowledge, education or combination of both equivalent to an Associates Degree plus seven years of office processes.

I'm not sure of the non-profit aspect but I recently received a free 2007 Salary Guide from Office Team - you can check with your local office or go to their website and click Employer. It states: "The definitive resource for those hiring - and being hired - in the administrative field. The 2007 Salary Guide features projected starting salary ranges for more than 40 administrative positions, as well as an overview of current hiring trends, new administrative roles and the skills critical for success in the future.
