A new study by online content provider 24/7 Wall Street says the insurance/financial sector shows the biggest disparity in weekly earnings among males ($1,324 average) versus females ($872). The study, compiled from government data, says the other industries showing the biggest pay gaps, in order, are:
2. Professional services ($872 average women’s weekly earnings vs. $1,324 for men)
3. Health care and social assistance ($648/$902)
4. Nondurable goods ($577/$782)
5. Durable goods ($655/$875)
6. Utilities ($780/$1,029)
7. Information ($756/$997)
8. Public Administration ($783/$998)
9. Wholesale ($648/$817)
10. Retail ($504/$634).
