The 3,000 military veterans, National Guard members and reservists who work for Gaithersburg, Md.-based Sodexo have their own club: the year-old HONOR group. HONOR stands for Honoring Our Nation’s finest with Opportunity and Respect.

The networking group within the giant food-services company now has three regional chapters.

The HONOR group offers support, guidance and resources to employees and families connected to the military by offering development opportunities, a forum to recognize and celebrate contributions made by service members and their families to the country and partnerships with community groups that support veterans, reservists and active-duty service members.

The organization also:

  • Actively recruits former military personnel for jobs.
  • Trains Sodexo recruiters to help vets translate their military experience into leadership skills for civilian employment.
  • Hosts a career web site for veterans.
  • Annually participates in more than 20 military-focused career fairs.

Contact: Alfred L. King of Sodexo, (301) 987-4755.
