What’s the most satisfying reward you can receive for a job well done?
Respondents to a “SmartPulse” survey, conducted by Smart-Brief on, were roughly split three ways. They said:
- Praise and expressions of thanks from my team and my customers—29.75%
- A handwritten thank-you note from an executive/leader I respect—27.85%
Only 8% said they wanted public accolades or awards, and less than 5% said they didn’t need external rewards at all.
It’s not surprising people would want a cash reward. What’s more enlightening is the fact that nearly as many said they craved praise or a handwritten thank-you note.
