Golden Valley-based General Mills has been dubbed one of the top five employers in the nation for multicultural women by Working Mother magazine.

To be considered for the list, companies were evaluated based on representation of multicultural women, recruitment, retention and advancement programs and company culture.

General Mills scored well because 3% of corporate executives, 5% of senior managers and 7% of top wage-earners are multicultural women. In 2009, 16% of its management hires were women of color.
